On Thursday, February 3rd, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Chair of the New Jersey Democratic Party, and seven other New Jersey Democratic National Committee (DNC) members endorsed Howard Dean for DNC Party Chair. Other New Jersey DNC members endorsing Governor Dean’s candidacy are: State Vice Chair Joseph Cryan, Tonio Burgos, Joseph DeCotiis, Roz Samuels, June Fischer, Mayor Doug Palmer and Camden County Chairman Donald Norcross.
“Governor Dean understands that Democratic Majorities on town councils and in state legislatures are just as important as majorities in Washington DC,” Chairman Watson Coleman stated. “He knows that if we want to win we need to compete, and he is dedicated to ensuring that the Democratic Party fields candidates against even the most daunting opponents.”
Governor Dean’s candidacy is based on strengthening democratic presence in local communities. In order to be successful in the long term the Democrats must have a strong voice in both our neighborhoods and our nation. Rather than continue to divide our country in to red and blue states Governor Dean will work to make sure democrats can speak to Americans in one voice from coast to coast and everywhere in between.
